The Third World Nomad Games, to be held from September 2 to 8 2018 in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul province of Kyrgyzstan, will differ from previous ones, since the focus of the games will take place in three directions: sport, culture and science.

There will be an evening program – the festival of ethno-cultures; 27 countries and 8 Russian subjects have already confirmed their participation. The main goal of the ethno-festival is acquainting Kyrgyzstan with the ethno-culture of other countries and also to have an evening pastime for foreign guests. Another difference in the sports program is the introduction of a new type of nomination Great Fighter, Great Shooter.

About 1000 yurts will be installed on Kyrchyn gorge. In total there will be 12-13 yurt villages. In addition, ethno-villages of foreign states will be there.

Besides, this year a ethno-bazaar will be open, where the products of artisans from local and foreigners will be displayed.

The forthcoming Third World Nomad Games are expected to be attended by 1,946 athletes from 52 countries.

Kyrgyzstan is leading in the number of participating athletes; 458 athletes will represent Kyrgyzstan. Russia is the second largest sports team – 235 people, followed by Kazakhstan – 195, Uzbekistan – 108, Pakistan – 91, Iran – 92, Turkmenistan – 65, India – 64, Afghanistan – 62, USA – 58, Tajikistan – 55, Ukraine – 46, China – 37, Sri Lanka – 34, Mongolia – 21, France – 19, Poland – 23, Belarus and Bulgaria – 17 athletes from each country. The remaining countries are represented by athletes up to 16 people.

Athletes will compete in 37 sports. A total of 594 medals will be given (174 gold, 173 silver and 247 bronze medals). The total prize fund of the III World Nomad Games will be more than 26 million soms.
