The representatives of the Armed Forces of India have arrived in the National Guard of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic January 28. The purpose of the visit is to participate in the conference for planning and preparation of a joint Kyrgyz-Indian exercise of special purpose units “Kanzhar-2019.” During the meeting, the both sides discussed issues of arrival, deployment and further stay in Kyrgyzstan of the personnel of the Armed Forces of India.

The exercise between the defense units of Kyrgyzstan and India is conducted in accordance with the plan for preparation of formations, units and institutions of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic for the 2019 academic year.

As part of the exercise, Kyrgyz and Indian military personnel will jointly work out the issues of conducting a joint special operation to identify, localize and destroy illegal armed groups in mountainous conditions.

Joint Kyrgyz-Indian exercises are scheduled for March of this year in Balykchy.
