Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov recently attended the 46th anniversary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, under the slogan “Fifty years of Islamic cooperation: a road map for prosperity and development.”

Speaking at the plenary meeting of the OIC Ministerial Council, Aidarbekov urged the participants to strengthen solidarity and economic cooperation between the OIC member countries, noting the responsibility of member states to the modern challenges, interaction in international organizations and in general worthy representation of the OIC in the international arena.

As part of his participation in the OIC Ministerial Council, Aidarbekov held bilateral meetings with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmad bin Muhammad Al-Khalifa, during which the sides noted specific issues of strengthening bilateral cooperation.

In addition, consultative meetings were held with the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan on the current agenda of the OIC and regional issues.

Aidarbekov also discussed with the Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj issues of the upcoming meeting of the ministerial meeting and the SCO summit.
